Comparison Of Modified Dual Ternary Indexing And Multi-Key Hashing Algorithms For Music Information Retrieval

In this work we have compared two indexing algorithms that have been used to index and retrieve Carnatic music songs. We have compared a modified algorithm of the Dual ternary indexing algorithm for music indexing and retrieval with the multi-key hashing indexing algorithm proposed by us. The modification in the dual ternary algorithm was essential to handle variable length query phrase and to accommodate features specific to Carnatic music. The dual ternary indexing algorithm is adapted for Carnatic music by segmenting using the segmentation technique for Carnatic music. The dual ternary algorithm is compared with the multi-key hashing algorithm designed by us for indexing and retrieval in which features like MFCC, spectral flux, melody string and spectral centroid are used as features for indexing data into a hash table. The way in which collision resolution was handled by this hash table is different than the normal hash table approaches. It was observed that multi-key hashing based retrieval had a lesser time complexity than dual-ternary based indexing The algorithms were also compared for their precision and recall in which multi-key hashing had a better recall than modified dual ternary indexing for the sample data considered.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figure

Abstract

Background

Proteolytic enzymes play central role in the biochemical mechanism of germination and intricately involved in many aspects of plant physiology and development. To study the mechanism of protein mobilization, undertaken the task of purifying and characterizing proteases, which occur transiently in germinating seeds of horse gram.

Results

Cysteine protease (CPRHG) was purified to homogeneity with 118 fold by four step procedure comprising Crude extract, (NH4)2SO4 fractionation, DEAE-Cellulose and CM-sephacel chromatography from the 2 day germinating cotyledons of horse gram (<it>Macrotyloma uniflorum </it>(Lam.) Verdc.). CPRHG is a monomer with molecular mass of 30 k Da, was determined by SDS-PAGE and gel filtration. The purified enzyme on IEF showed two isoforms having pI values of 5.85 and 6.1. CPRHG composed of high content of aspartic acid, glutamic acid and serine. The enzyme activity was completely inhibited by pCMB, iodoacetate and DEPC indicating cysteine and histidine residues at the active site. However, on addition of sulfhydryl reagents (cysteine, dithiothreitol, glutathione and beta-ME) reverse the strong inhibition by pCMB. The enzyme is fairly stable toward pH and temperature. Immunoblot analysis shows that the enzyme synthesized as zymogen (preproenzyme with 81 kDa) and processed to a 40 kDa proenzyme which was further degraded to give 30 kDa active enzyme.

Conclusion

It appears that the newly synthesized protease is inactive, and activation takes place during germination. CPRHG has a broad substrate specificity and stability in pH, temperature, etc. therefore, this protease may turn out to be an efficient choice for the pharmaceutical, medicinal, food, and biotechnology industry.</p

The rise of social networks had marked the revolution and transformation of human relationships and the information age. Social networks, Facebook in specific, have more than a billion daily active users which means petabytes of data are generated every second and there are so many social interactions occurring simultaneously. Community detection revolves around the study of these social interactions and common interests to derive the most efficient method of communication to specialized groups. Considering a preferred set of features such as the posts, likes, education background and the location of users for an optimal data structure, the selection of significant users for community analysis is implemented with the unique approach to investment score and dynamic threshold allocations for the graph creation. The community detection process focuses on the analysis of cliques and map-overlay. The emphasis on the detection of overlapping communities enhances the analysis of community relationships

Chyliform pleural effusion is turbid or milky from high lipid content without cholesterol crystals. Chyliform pleural effusion is a rare presentation than chylous or pseudochylous pleural effusion. The mean duration of the effusion to turn chyliform is 5 years. A 20 year old male presented with dry cough, left side chest pain and dyspnea on exertion and gives history of bilateral pleural effusion for which he had taken empirical antituberculous treatment. Chest radiograph showed bilateral pleural effusion more on left side. Thoracentesis done on left side revealed milky white coloured fluid with elevated cholesterol levels and Mycobacterium tuberculosis was detected and was not resistant to Rifampicin in cartridge based nucleic acid amplification test[CBNAAT] for pleural fluid. Contrast enhanced CT chest showed healed fibrotic lesion in bilateral upper lobe with bilateral pleural effusion with thickened pleura on left side. Patient diagnosed as chyliform effusion and treated with Intercostal drainage and antituberculous treatment. Less than 200 cases of chyliform have been reported in the medical literature of which microbiologically confirmed tuberculous chyliform effusion is rarely reported. Chyliform effusion rarely develops within one year and Tuberculosis presenting as Chyliform pleural effusion is a rare phenomenon

Price of Passion - Pigeon Breeder’s Disease in a Young Male

Hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP), also called extrinsic allergic alveolitis, is a complex syndrome of varying intensity, clinical presentation, and natural history rather than a single, uniform disease. It represents an immunologic reaction to an inhaled agent, particularly an organic antigen, occurring within the pulmonary parenchyma. Prompt diagnosis of HP is important, as the disease is reversible when diagnosed early in its course. Here we present a case of a 26 year old male, whose hobby/passion was the reason of his lung condition. He was breeding pigeons for racing and had won many titles in it. He presented to us with symptoms of breathlessness, dry cough for 4 months and Velcro crackles on auscultation. Computed tomography of his chest showed ground glass nodules. Bronchoalveolar lavage recovered lymphocytes. When removed from his home environment he had improvement in his symptoms. He was diagnosed with bird breeder’s disease and treated. We have reviewed the diagnosis, management, outcome and prevention of bird breeder’s disease

Our system is designed to predict best suitable crops for the region of farmer. It also suggests farming strategies for the crops such as mixed cropping, spacing, irrigation, seed treatment, etc. along with fertilizer and pesticide suggestions. This is done based on the historic soil parameters of the region and by predicting cost of crops and weather. The system is based on fuzzy logic which gets input from an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) based weather prediction module. An Agricultural Named Entity Recognition (NER) module is developed using Conditional Random Field (CRF) to extract crop conditions data. Further, cost prediction is done based on Linear Regression equation to aid in ranking the crops recommended. Using this approach we achieved an F-Score of 54% with a precision of 77% thus accounting for the correctness of crop production

EMOTION AND SARCASM IDENTIFICATION OF POSTS FROM FACEBOOK DATA USING A HYBRID APPROACH

    No full text
Facebook has become the most important source of news and people’s feedback and opinion about almost every daily topic. Facebook represents one of the largest and most dynamic datasets of user generated content. Facebook posts can express opinions on different topics. With this massive amount of information in Facebook, there has to be an automatic tool that can categorize these information based on emotions. The proposed system is to develop a prototype that help to come to an inference about the emotions of the posts namely anger, surprise, happy, fear, sorrow, trust, anticipation and disgust with three sentic levels in each. This helps in better understanding of the posts when compared to the approaches which senses the polarity of the posts and gives just their sentiments i.e., positive, negative or neutral. The posts handling these emotions might be sarcastic too. When detecting sarcasm in social media posts, the various features that are especially inherent to Facebook must be considered with importance
